BTCO Capacitors for Combined Juice Starters – 36 & 50 MFD 660 V, 108 MFD 440 V
BTCO capacitors are made for BTCO Combined (1/2/3) juice starters, which run 3 phase submersible motors on juice line and 2 phase supply. They come in three sizes: 36 MFD and 50 MFD (660 V AC, cylindrical, ISI marked) and 108 MFD (440 V AC, box type), all self-healing polypropylene capacitors made to IS 2993.
What they do
- When the supply drops to 2 phase or juice line, the Combined starter uses these capacitors to make up the missing phase, so the 3 phase motor can start and keep running
- They connect on the Touch-1, Touch-2 and Run lines of the starter, and are used in combination
- The starter switches them by itself and keeps checking them. If one fails, the display shows “Check Capacitor”
Which capacitors do I need?
It depends on your motor and the supply conditions at your farm, so there is no single chart that fits everyone. Our dealer or technician will choose the right combination when your Combined starter is installed, and can change it later if your supply changes.

- Combined DOL juice starter: single cable 3 phase motors, 3 to 10 HP, on juice line, 2 phase or 3 phase
- Combined Star Delta starter: double cable 3 phase motors, 7.5 to 25 HP, on 2 phase or 3 phase (juice line up to 10 HP)

Which capacitors do I need for my motor?

It is the voltage the capacitor is rated for. The 36 and 50 MFD capacitors are rated for 660 V AC, and the 108 MFD box capacitor for 440 V AC.
What does ISI marked and IS 2993 mean?
IS 2993 is the Indian standard for self-healing AC motor capacitors. The 36 and 50 MFD capacitors carry the ISI mark, and the 108 MFD capacitor is made as per IS 2993.
How will I know if a capacitor has failed?
The Combined starter keeps checking its capacitors. If one fails, the display shows "Check Capacitor". Call your dealer or technician to check and replace it.
What warranty do I get?
Six months from the date of sale against manufacturing defects. Service is available at our sales and service centres across Karnataka.
What does MFD mean on a capacitor?
MFD means microfarad (µF), the size of the capacitor. BTCO capacitors come in 36 MFD and 50 MFD (660 V) and 108 MFD (440 V).
