What is the difference between Domestic and Agro?
Domestic is for homes, where the pump fills an overhead tank. It comes with a water level controller and timers. Agro is for farm borewells, without a water level controller or timers, and is also available for 5 HP motors.
Which variant should I choose for my motor?
Choose by use and HP: 2 HP or 3 HP Domestic, or 2 HP, 3 HP or 5 HP Agro. Tell us your motor's HP and where you will use it when you call, and we'll confirm the right one.
How does the water level controller work?
On the Domestic variants, the starter stops the motor when the overhead tank is full (Overflow Trip) and when there is no water in the sump (Sump Empty), so the tank doesn't overflow and the pump doesn't run dry.
The voltage at my place is low. Will it work?
The starter works on supply from 200 to 275 V, and its capacitors are built in and matched to each HP. If your voltage is often low, there is a provision to attach additional capacitors; our dealer or technician can add them.
Does the motor start again by itself when power comes back?
Yes. When power comes back, the starter waits for the auto start delay and then starts the motor on its own.
What happens after a dry run or overload trip?
After a dry run trip, the starter waits for the dry restart time you set and then starts the motor again. After an overload trip, it tries the motor once more after 10 minutes.
What does "Check Cap/Cable" mean?
The starter found a problem in the starting circuit: a capacitor may be shorted, the yellow cable may be cut, or the motor's starting winding may be short. Call your dealer or technician to check it.
Can I control the starter from my phone?
Yes, if the BTCO GSM mobile control module is attached. You can then switch the motor ON or OFF, get alerts and see voltage and current in the free BTCO Starters app or by SMS.
Does the Single Phase starter have low and high voltage protection?
Yes. It switches the motor off when the supply voltage goes too low or too high, before the motor overheats. How voltage fluctuation protection works.
Does the Single Phase starter have dry run protection?
Yes. It senses dry run from the motor current, with no sensor in the borewell, and stops the motor before it overheats. After the dry restart time you set, it starts the motor again by itself. Dry run protection explained.
Does the single phase starter work with openwell and monoblock pumps?
Yes. The BTCO FASP-01 works with single phase borewell submersible pumps, openwell submersible pumps and monoblock pumps from 2 to 5 HP, of any brand.

One year from the date of sale against manufacturing defects, covering the control unit inside the starter. Service is available at our sales and service centres across Karnataka.
Do single phase submersible motors need a starter?
A small single phase pump can be switched on without one, but then nothing protects it. A BTCO single phase starter stops the motor when it runs dry, is overloaded, or gets very low or high voltage, and catches a shorted capacitor: the things that burn single phase motors. It also starts the motor again by itself when power comes back.
Is there a single phase starter with timer and water level controller?
Yes: the Domestic model (2 HP or 3 HP). Its water level controller starts the pump when the overhead tank is low and stops it when the tank is full or the sump runs dry, and it has normal, cyclic and RTC timers. The Agro model has no timers or water level controller.
Is there a BTCO single phase starter for 1 HP or 1.5 HP motors?
No. The FASP-01 is made for 2, 3 and 5 HP motors: 2 or 3 HP Domestic, and 2, 3 or 5 HP Agro.
Is it a single phase pump control panel?
Yes. It is a complete single phase control panel for a borewell, openwell or monoblock pump in one box, with a digital display that shows the volts, the amps and the reason for every trip. The Domestic model also has the water level controller and timers built in.
Will it work with my Texmo, CRI or Kirloskar motor?
Yes. It works with single phase submersible, openwell and monoblock pump motors from 2 to 5 HP of any brand, for example Texmo, CRI or Kirloskar, as long as the motor's HP and cable match the variant you choose, and it protects the motor from burning just the same.
