BTCO DOL-03 is a fully automatic 3 phase DOL (direct on line) starter for single cable submersible and borewell pump motors from 3 to 10 HP. It protects the motor from single phasing, dry run, overload and earth faults, starts it again by itself after a power cut or a dry run trip, and works with the BTCO app if the mobile control module is attached.

Choose your variant: 3–7.5 HP or 7.5–10 HP, each with or without timer + WLC.

Motor protection

When the starter trips, the display shows the reason: Mains Problem, Check Cable/Kit, Ground/Imbalance, Overload Trip or Dry Run Trip.

Automatic operation and monitoring

  • Auto ON / OFF, with an auto start delay after power returns (5 to 240 seconds, you set it)
  • Dry restart time: after a dry run trip, the starter waits for the time you set and then starts the motor again by itself, so the borewell has time to refill
  • Timer + WLC variant: normal, cyclic and RTC (real time clock) timers
  • Water level controller (timer + WLC variant): with BTCO magnetic sensors, it starts the pump when the tank is low and stops it when the tank is full or the sump is empty
  • Digital voltmeter (RY, YB, BR) and ammeter (R, Y, B) for all 3 phases at once
  • LCD display for settings, and LED lights for R, Y and B phases

Frequently asked questions

Will the DOL-03 starter work on juice line (series line) or 2 phase supply?

No. The DOL-03 needs normal 3 phase supply. If your village gets only juice line or 2 phase power, choose the BTCO Combined DOL starter, which runs 3 phase motors up to 10 HP on juice line, 2 phase or 3 phase.

Which variant should I choose for my motor?

The 3–7.5 HP variant is for motors from 3 to 7.5 HP, and the 7.5–10 HP variant is for 7.5 to 10 HP motors. Tell us your motor's HP when you call and we'll suggest the right one. For motors above 10 HP, use the Star Delta starter.

Does the motor start again by itself after a power cut?

Yes. When power comes back, the starter waits for the auto start delay you have set (5 to 240 seconds) and then starts the motor on its own.

Does the motor start again by itself after a dry run trip?

Yes. You set a dry restart time on the starter. After a dry run trip it waits for that time, so the borewell can refill, and then starts the motor again on its own.

What protections does the starter have?

Single phasing, dry run, overload, earth fault and imbalance, cable or kit fault and leakage, and motor fault protection. When it trips, the display tells you why, for example Dry Run Trip or Overload Trip.

Should I buy the variant with or without timer + WLC?

Choose the timer + WLC variant if you want the motor to run for set hours or at set times (normal, cyclic and RTC timers), or to fill a tank automatically with BTCO magnetic water level sensors. If you only need automatic ON/OFF and protection, the variant without timer + WLC is enough. See how the timers work and how the water level controller works.

Can I control the starter from my phone?

Yes, if the BTCO GSM mobile control module is attached. You can then switch the motor ON or OFF, get alerts and see voltage and current in the free BTCO Starters app or by SMS.

DOL or star delta: which starter does my motor need?

Single cable 3 phase motors up to 10 HP use a DOL starter like the DOL-03. Double cable motors from 7.5 to 30 HP use a star delta starter, which starts the motor gently to reduce the starting current.

Does the DOL-03 protect the motor from voltage fluctuation?

Yes. It trips on the current the motor draws, so when high or low voltage pushes the current out of the safe range, it stops the motor before it overheats. How voltage fluctuation protection works.

Does the DOL-03 have dry run protection?

Yes. It senses dry run from the motor current, with no sensor in the borewell, and stops the motor before it overheats. After the dry restart time you set, it starts the motor again by itself. Dry run protection explained.

Does the DOL-03 have single phasing protection?

Yes, built in. When a phase goes missing, it stops the motor and shows Mains Problem, so you don't need a separate single phasing preventer. Single phasing protection explained.

What warranty do I get, and where can I get service?

One year from the date of sale against manufacturing defects, covering the MPAU unit inside the starter. Service is available at our sales and service centres across Karnataka.

What is a DOL starter, and what does DOL mean?

DOL means direct on line: the starter connects the motor straight to the full 3 phase supply to start it. The BTCO DOL-03 is a fully automatic, digital 3 phase DOL starter for single cable submersible and borewell motors from 3 to 10 HP. Its digital MPAU unit protects the motor from dry run, single phasing, overload and voltage fluctuation, the main reasons submersible motors burn.

Which starter is best for a 5 HP, 7.5 HP or 10 HP submersible pump?

For a 3 phase single cable motor, the DOL-03: the 3–7.5 HP variant for 3 to 7.5 HP motors, or the 7.5–10 HP variant for 7.5 and 10 HP. A double cable 7.5 or 10 HP motor needs the star delta starter, and on 2 phase supply or juice line, the Combined juice starter. Not sure? Use Find the right starter.

Can I use a DOL starter for a 15 HP or 20 HP motor?

Not the DOL-03: it is made for motors up to 10 HP. Bigger submersible motors are double cable and need a star delta starter, which starts them with much less current. The BTCO FASD-03 star delta starter covers 7.5 to 30 HP.

Is this a complete starter panel (control panel) for a submersible pump?

Yes. The DOL-03 comes as a complete 3 phase control panel in a metal box: the contactor, the MPAU digital protection and auto start unit with its display, and the terminals for the supply and the motor cable.

Will it work with my Texmo, CRI or Kirloskar motor?

Yes. It works with 3 phase submersible and borewell motors of any brand, for example Texmo, CRI or Kirloskar, as long as the motor's HP and cable match the variant you choose, and it protects the motor from burning just the same.

What is the price of a 3 phase DOL starter?

The price depends on the HP variant and whether you want timer + WLC. We don't show prices online: call or WhatsApp us with your motor's HP and we'll give you all the details.

  • The warranty can be claimed only if the warranty sticker on the product is intact.
